If you like running full speed towards a stationary object…Then gymnastics is for you!

If you like balancing on a 4” beam…Then gymnastics is definitely for you!

If you like dancing, tumbling, and basically proving that everything learned in physics class is true…Then membership on the Lakewood High School Women’s Gymnastics Team without a doubt is certainly for you.

If you are interested, please plan on attending the organizational meeting on Tuesday, September 12th in Lecture Hall #2, at 4:00.  Additional information may be picked up in the Athletic Office.

Interested in Girls Rugby, want to get fit, have fun and meet new friends? Then come out to our informational meeting September 13th from 3-4pm in the cafeteria. Absolutely no experience needed.

Art Club and National Art Honor Society will have their first meeting today afterschool in B206. We will discuss officer positions and our first project, see Mrs. Hansen for details.

Attention all students! Please note that bags and book bags are not permitted in the stadium during athletic events. Please do not bring these items or you will not be able to gain access to the event. Additionally, students must have their school IDs in order to get into the stadium and be able to produce the ID upon request.

At tomorrow’s LHS football game vs. Berea-Midpark, the first 500 people to make a donation ~either monetary or new, unopened toiletries~, will receive a free “NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE” t-shirt in honor of our Friend, Mrs. Anne Giffels. All donations will be given to the AG (Anne Giffels) Community Closets that will be located at LHS and both middle schools, to support the students of Lakewood City Schools in Mrs. Giffels belief that everyone deserves a little help especially when they need it and don’t ask. Items include but are not limited to:  Toothbrushes, Toothpaste, Deodorant (male & female), Soap, Travel size shampoo/conditioner, Hand Sanitizer.

Donation drop offs will be on either end of the Home Side Stands.  Remember to bring all donation items in a clear bag, as no book bags will be permitted into the stadium.

If you love gaming of all types and want to share that passion with like-minded individuals, then Gamers’ Club is for you! Gamers’ Club will be held tomorrow in Room C111 from 3:00 – 4:30. Stop by and check it out. We will briefly discuss leadership positions and ideas for fundraisers. Feel free to bring a snack! See Mr. Streets or Mrs. Matthews with questions.

Good news – the library is opening today!

Our hours are 7:30 to 3:30.  For now, we are having you enter the library through the back (south) door.

Students may come before or after school or for lunch, but NOT to EAT!  Or you may come during study hall.  Students MUST HAVE an ID to use the library.

Study hall students must sign in with their study hall teachers before coming to the LRC.  At the start, we are limiting the number of students coming from each study hall to 3 students.  That number will change after we grow into our new space.  There are computers and a printer available for student use.  We welcome those in search of a quiet place to study or a convenient place to collaborate with your peers.

Attention Students!  Homecoming ticket sales will begin on Monday, September 18th.  This is a reminder that you should return any past due textbooks or calculators to the bookroom before you can purchase a ticket.

There will be an organizational meeting for any 9th thru 12th grade student that is interested in trying out for the high school Baseball Teams in February.  The meeting will be held tomorrow at 3:05 at the LHS Baseball Field – 3rd Base Bleachers.  It is very important that you attend or at least stop by to find out dates and information needed to prepare for playing High School Baseball.

Monday, September 11th, marks the 16th anniversary of 9/11. To commemorate the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives on that horrific day, Key Club will be placing flags on the front lawn to represent the victims, and our countries patriotism. If you would like to help place flags and be part of a great opportunity to represent these victims and our country, please meet on the front lawn right after school tomorrow, September 8th.

The bookroom will be selling student tickets to tomorrow night’s football game vs. Berea-Midpark for $4.00 during lunch periods today.  Tickets at the gate are $6.00.

In order to memorialize our much loved Mrs. Giffels, there will be a banner in the bookroom for students and staff to sign and write messages on. Please leave a message on the memorial banner in the bookroom for Mrs. Giffels. Come during your lunch period to leave a note of love and commemorate the memory of a loved Lakewood High School family member.

Today’s ala cartes in the cafeteria are:
