It had to end sometime. After maintaining a perfect record and staggering 142-37 scoring margin over more than three weeks of play, the Cleveland Indians lost Friday night, dropping a tight loss to the Kansas City Royals. It was the Indians first loss after winning 22 consecutive games. On Saturday, the Cleveland Indians clinch their second straight AL Central title. Since the streak is over the Indians can continue focusing on the playoffs. The Cleveland Indians had a good run beating the cubs winning streak in 1935.

The 22-game win streak, the second longest in baseball’s modern era, lasted 22 games. That’s about three weeks of doing nothing but winning baseball. The Indians have only trailed 7 of 181 innings during the streak. One of our star pitchers, Corey Kluber pitched a shutout to extend the streak in 2-0 win against Detroit Tigers.

On Thursday, Jay Bruce, #32, hit the game winning double in the bottom of the 10th inning against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday, September 14th, 2017. Making that game number 22 for the Cleveland Indians. Moving only four wins of matching the New York Giants of the longest streak in major league history. They set the American League record with their amazing victory win. Beating the Chicago Cubs at 21.  They set the faces happy of the 29,346 fans in the baseball stadium.  Even though the Cleveland Indians lost the winning streak, it will all go down in history.
