    MLB First Month Update

    MLB+First+Month+Update

In the first month of the MLB season, many players are coming out of the woodworks, and many already established players are dominating the league as well. Players such as Shohei Ohtani, Yermin Mercedes, Mike Trout, and our very own Jose Ramirez just to name a few.

One of the dominant players of today’s game is Shohei Ohtani, a Japanese superstar that happened to grow up in the same small town as the future Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki. Shohei, though, is a very different player compared; Shohei pitches and is also a hitter, and one of the best in the league at both of them. He is leading the league in home runs and has one of the best ERA’s (Earned Run Average) in the league at 2.66.

Another player that has been on a roll to start the season is Yermin Mercedes, a player that came from nowhere, replacing Eloy Jimenez after suffering a ruptured tendon in left fielding, trying to catch a ball. Yermin Mercedes has been batting .357, the best in MLB, and is on the hottest team in baseball right now: the Chicago White Sox.

Pitchers have been dominating this year compared to past years, having a total of six no-hitters already within the first month of the season; the record for one season is seven. The pitchers include Joe Musgrove, Joe Means, Carlos Rondon, Spencer Turnbull, Wade Miley, and Corey Kluber. Kluber, former Indians ace, just pitched the no-hitter last night with the Yankees win over the Texas Rangers.
