Have you ever wondered about all of the public art you see in Lakewood? There are 22 pieces of public art throughout the city. Most of the art is located on Madison and Detroit but there is also some at Lakewood Park. There are many benefits to public art. It has the ability to provide aesthetic beauty, to educate and inspire, to stimulate commerce, and increase real estate value, build better citizens, to increase tourism and provide other benefits. It also enhances our experience of a place and our quality of life, creating a sense of pride and reaching outside of a museum. It adds beauty to everyday life, declaring the worth of a place and a time in our shared cultures.

If you are looking for something to do this upcoming winter, then you should go check out all of the public art. Some of the art is displayed indoors in the two public libraries. There are six displays of art in the libraries. The rest are on buildings, bus stops, streets, and more! There are lots of murals on the corners of Warren. You can check out the map on the Lakewood Ohio website.
