Not very many students know about the Lakewood Ranger Education Foundation, or what they do. LREF is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1984 by teachers, administrators, and community leaders. It is known for excelling in the public education system through providing funds to public schools, while also distributing millions of dollars over the years. They provide an average of over $100,000 per year through different programs, awards, and scholarships.
The LREF has spent a lot of money to make sure the students associated with them have good experiences. They provide teaching grants for all grade levels. These grants allow the teachers to go beyond the curriculum the make the educational experience better for each student. During the 23-24 school year, they put $17,159 towards their grants.
They raise money through alumni networks and special events such as golf outings which take place in May, as well as alumni meets, We hope to see you there!
