LCAC Thanksgiving Food Drive

LCAC Thanksgiving Food Drive

The Lakewood Charitable Assistance Corporation does holiday food drives to make food baskets for families and senior citizens, and they are preparing for their Thanksgiving Food Drive to serve Lakewood residents in need.

The LCAC Thanksgiving Food Drive will be held at the Lakewood Masonic Temple on Detroit Rd. from Nov. 17 to Nov. 18. Details are as follows:

  • Nov. 17
    • 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Collection and sorting of non-perishable food items
    • 6 – 7:30 p.m.: Bagging of non-perishable food items
  • Nov. 18
    • 9 a.m. – Noon: Bagging of perishable food items
    • Noon – end: Food deliveries

The LCAC members are looking for volunteers to help bring food to the community (if you know someone or want to volunteer, bring a friend too). If you volunteer, you will help deliver and sort the food. You can volunteer easily, and bring a smile to someone in your community who is in need this Thanksgiving.

Along with the Thanksgiving Food Drive, they will also do a Christmas Food Drive on Dec. 15 and Dec. 16. Mark your calendars! Be on the lookout for any information, whether you are interested in donating or volunteering.

“It’s nice seeing things like this going on in Lakewood because with each volunteer and donation, I feel like it makes Lakewood grow stronger as a community. I know I’m going to be donating and I’m gonna try to get my friends to as well”  says Sebastian Shafer, a student at Lakewood High School.
