In the midst of the holiday season, the symphony and chamber orchestra, band, and choir have been preparing for their biggest concert of the year, the Sounds of The Season concert. Throughout the week, the ensembles have been non-stop preparing for this concert, practicing hours each day and rehearsing to be sure that this concert will run as smoothly as possible while at the same time, being just as much fun and enjoyable. The concert will take place Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. and is open to any family or friends who want to support the ensembles. This concert will also include other groups outside of the Lakewood ensembles such as the children’s choir, who will perform in the beginning act of the show. However, if you are unable to attend the Thursday evening concert, don’t worry! There will be a second concert held during the school day on Friday for the student body to enjoy, so school friends and teachers can also watch the performance that the band, orchestras and choir have been rehearsing for.
The Chamber Orchestra has also been preparing for their own performance the day of Light Up Lakewood at the Lakewood Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Chamber will also be accompanied by Lakewood Suzuki Strings, who will be performing at 10:30 a.m. before the Chamber Orchestra. That’s not the only attraction during the day of Light up Lakewood; there will also be a parade featuring the Lakewood Marching Band marching the streets in the evening.
