Did you all see the Lakewood Project this past weekend? If you missed it, the Lakewood Project performed a show called ‘Space Jam’ and performed a wide range of songs that were somehow related to space, spanning from Nicki Minaj to David Bowie. The middle school orchestra students even joined the Lakewood Project for three songs.
So what is next? The Lakewood project is preparing for their biggest concert yet, a reunion where the past 20 years of Lakewood Project members come back to perform on one stage once again. This event has been meticulously planned for over a year, emails have been sent to the Alumni, however the amount of alumni that will actually be attending the reunion will be unknown until the fateful day that the Lakewood Project gets to meet the Lakewood Project.
The May concert will be longer than our normal concerts and split into two parts, the first part will be a modern rock concert and will be performed only by the 2022-2023 Lakewood Project group. Then, the second part will be played out as a countdown until the last song only has the original lakewood project members performing it.
As a Lakewood Project member, ever since Dr. Hankins first discussed this reunion concert, we have been very excited for the event where everyone is on the same stage. I will meet the members I haven’t seen since I was a freshman, and the freshmen this year in Lakewood Project will have the opportunity to meet everyone for the first time.
Once the concert grows ever nearer, there will be more updates regarding the incredible concert that we are all looking forward to.
