Yearbook Club

Yearbook+Club

It’s that time of the year, Seniors! Yearbook club has started preparing the yearbook! They come together each year to create a fun, unique, and memorable record of our fun-filled school year. The committee put a lot of time and effort into gathering pictures from sports, clubs, social events, and much more so that we have all of our favorite memories all in one place. One of the head editors, senior Cassie Auck, has been collecting many of the senior photos and content for the yearbook and sat down to talk about the yearbook with The Lakewood Times.

Cassie Auck is a senior at Lakewood and has been in the yearbook club for two years now. Cassie is continuing her education at the University of Cincinnati studying music education. When I asked Cassie how much she likes the yearbook club, she responded enthusiastically, “It is such a fun way to show creative freedom and lots of memories.” Cassie is currently constructing prom and commencement pages and senior superlatives. She enjoys building these pages especially as a senior to contribute to her class and express how amazing these four years have been.

Yearbook club, organized through Ms. Basinski, is a great way to meet new friends and show creativity through something you are proud of making. All students are excited to see the finished product to reflect on the fun times of the school year, but especially the seniors. This is their fourth and final year at the high school and many of them enjoy looking back at all four yearbooks. “I am ready to shed some tears and laugh with friends looking back at the old yearbooks but I am ready to see what the future holds for me,” senior Maddie Kratz says. Senior Sydney Hampton also chimes in saying, “I wish I took a leap of faith and joined the yearbook club to show my creativity and share with my friends all the hard work these students put into it, but I am happy to purchase one every year and enjoy it for many years to come.”
