The Last Week of NIMBA

This winter the National Intramural Men’s Basketball Association has had a great season at Lakewood High. With fan turnout comparable to some of our school sports and the rivalries between teams at peak intensity, our student body seems to be getting into the beautiful sport more than they have in years prior.

On Saturday, the league will be showcasing five different competitive games of basketball. At 9 am the Ball Handlers face off against Team Stars, at 10 the Mafia competes against Team Ian, at 11 am The Sharp Skudders face off against the Sam Nelson Experience, at 12 pm the GD’s go up against The Nasty Nine, and at 1 pm Team Staves will battle against The Turd Burglars.

The games this weekend will wrap up the regular season for teams like the Ball Handlers with a bang! The Ball handlers are one of the two all women basketball teams in the league this year and have maintained a very impressive record of 1-5, but with an anticipated win against Team Stars, this powerhouse of a team will have shown that competitive intramural basketball cannot forget about the instinctual abilities women have to really handle some balls on the court.

Make sure you show up for at least one of these many very intense, official, and emotional basketball games this Saturday… but if you want to see the best kind of basketball out there, Garfield at 9 am is the place to be.
