The Start of the 2023 Lakewood Rangers Baseball Season

Sophie Boyer

The Lakewood Baseball 2023 season has officially begun. Thus far, the boys have played and won all three of their pre-season scrimmages. Their first scrimmage against Aurora was a hard fought battle, but ultimately ended in a comeback and win for the Rangers. Their second scrimmage against Strongsville, like the Aurora game, ended in a win as well. Finally, their third scrimmage against Padua was also a win with a final score of 7 to 3. The boy’s record is already looking strong and the season is just beginning. Let’s hope that the Rangers keep up this momentum as they enter the regular season.

Senior and varsity pitcher Colin McCrone shares his thoughts on the season thus far, saying “I’m really happy with how the season has started so far.” He goes on to say, “We’ve been working really hard in the off-season and are excited for all the upcoming scrimmages and Friday night lights games.” He wants to remind the students to fill up the student section to show the team some support as they head deeper into their spring and summer season.

Hopefully, with such a great start to the season so far and this positive attitude, the Rangers continue to build their winning record. This spring and summer will be filled with countless baseball games with the next scrimmage being Wednesday, March 22. So make sure you show up, dress the theme, and cheer for your Lakewood Rangers! Check the Lakewood Boy’s Baseball Instagram page for additional information and the season schedule.
