Beck Center

Do you enjoy watching and listening to musical theater? If you do, the Beck Center on Detroit Avenue is the perfect place for you! Throughout the year, the Beck Center puts on performances for all age groups to enjoy. They also have an amazing free art gallery that guests can walk through. The Center gives children and adults a chance to let loose and act in all kinds of plays.

One of the upcoming shows is ¨Once Upon a Mattress¨. This will be acted by the youth theater kids. The play is inspired by the well-known fairy tale, ¨The Princess and the Pea¨. When a Queen rules that no one is allowed to marry until her son, the prince does. Princesses from everywhere came to try and win the prince’s hand. It was difficult for these princesses to win his hand because of the queen’s impossible test. What happens when the ¨shy¨ princess comes along and takes the queen’s sensitivity test? Now, you’ll have to check and see how the story ends! Adult and senior tickets are $14 and children and teenagers under 18 are $12. The plays are from May 5-14.

The youth theater is not the only group that’s putting on a show. The Beck Center’s theater is putting on a play called Noises off. This three-act comedy is sure to be a hit. Admission for this show is $38 for adults, $34 for seniors, $17 for students with ID, and $5 for children between 12 and five. There will also be a $3 service fee for every single ticket.
