Week Two of Lakewood Baseball

Week+Two+of+Lakewood+Baseball

The Lakewood Boy’s Baseball team is heading into week two of their regular season. This week they have played three games. Their first game was on Monday, April 3, against Gilmour Academy. This game was away for the Rangers and though very competitive, ended in a loss for Lakewood. The final score of the Lakewood v.s. Gilmour game was 2-3. The next day, on Tuesday, April 4, the Rangers also competed in a game against Bay Village High School. This matchup was also incredibly competitive. Both teams battled, but thankfully the Lakewood Rangers secured the win. After seven innings the Rangers won 9-8. In their last game of the week on Thursday, April 6, the Rangers played Elryia Catholic High School in Elryia.

The Rangers have undoubtedly faced some hard teams so far this year. Although, with such a close-knit team and devoted coaching staff, there is no question regarding the success the team can acquire. Led by head varsity coach Grant Graves, a former Lakewood alumni, and his team of coaching staff, the Rangers will be very well trained for the remainder of their season and for OHSAA, the Ohio High School Athletics Association, playoffs. The Lakewood Boys team has not named any captains thus far, but there is no doubt about there being leaders on the team. With a heavily based senior roster and plenty of juniors with varsity playing time, the Rangers have all the guidance they need. Keep an eye out for next week’s game schedule and go Rangers!
