Downtown Lakewood just unveiled its new restaurant, Solstice, which has taken over the space previously occupied by Deagan’s. It officially opened Sept. 22. Solstice looks to have business booming soon downtown, hopefully living up to Lakewood’s high standards.

Solstice was started by seven restaurant professionals from Cleveland. Solstice is open 4 p.m. to 10 p.m .on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday through Saturday.  An executive pastry chef at Solstice says it is “A fun place to come with family or friends; a welcoming place.”  Solstice seats around 130 guests, including a large number of 35 at the island bar.

The new owners have spent about two and a half months refinishing the floors, painting the ceilings, hanging drywall, resurfacing the dining room tables and much more.  The menu has an assortment of foods such as categories of big plates and small plates. Many are listed as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free.  The name of Solstice was suggested to the owners and it stuck, since they felt that the name acknowledges an establishment of Lakewood and therefore belongs in the Lakewood community.

Make sure to stop by the Solstice to check out their renovations and delicious menu!
