Winter Sports Prep

Winter sports are here! The winter sports athletes are beginning to practice and train for the upcoming season.

Winter sports include: hockey, basketball (boys and girls), cheerleading, indoor track (boys and girls), wrestling (boys and girls), swimming & diving (boys and girls), and bowling (boys and girls).

  • Girl’s basketball tryouts were Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28 and there is a girl’s varsity basketball scrimmage at Lutheran West on Nov. 2, starting at 5:30 p.m.
  • Boy’s basketball tryouts are Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4.
  • Hockey has already begun official practices
  • Wrestling officially begins Nov. 6 but has been having pre-season practices.
  • Swimming and diving started Oct. 27.
  • Bowling hasn’t started up just yet but no worries, they will soon! So will Indoor Track.

As the seasons start, the athletes/students are becoming excited to see their fellow peers playing or cheering us on. Senior Hockey player Jake Hirsch had this to say when asked about the new upcoming season: “Our team is picking up right where we left off after a great season last year. We are getting back into the flow of things and are pumped for some intense Hockey!”

So many fun and new activities are coming up with this new season, so don’t forget to come out and support our winter athletes!
