Lakewood Hockey kicked off the winter sports season with a bang on Saturday, Nov. 18, taking down the Bay Village Rockets 5-4 in overtime. Leading the way for the Rangers was Junior Ronan Johnson with three goals and Senior Tanner Constantine with two. Lakewood held a close 4-3 lead until Bay scored with three seconds left, sending the game into overtime, with Constantine scoring the game winning point.
Senior Andrew Krankowski says, “I’m really excited to see how we play this year. We played really well against Bay; a couple of mistakes let Bay make it close and I think if we limit those mistakes we can really look forward to seeing a lot more wins in the future.”
The Rangers are excited about the win, while also knowing that one game doesn’t decide the season. Senior Jake Hirsch says “We pulled out a tight win against Bay this weekend, but now we need to refocus on Kent Roosevelt.”
Lakewood plays Kent at Winterhurst this Saturday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m. and the Rangers need us to PACK THE BARN.
