“Leaving Soon”

Sonnet

The whispering winds cradled me to sleep that night,

It flowed from underneath holding my limp body from falling off,

It surrounded me protecting from anything that would bite

It smelled sweet and it wrapped me up in a white cloth,

I thought you really loved me, but you left without a trace of your sweet existence

Packing your things up, pushing me away from you

I should’ve listened when you said you needed your distanceĀ

Do you love someone new, if so who

I was never perfect for you but why would you stab me in the heart this way

I’m starting to think you never even wanted me in the first placeĀ

The feeling of your lips on mine was slowly making me decay

I always thought you’d walk with me but it turns out I had to chase

Im slowly fading now I’m thinking on leaving soon

Just like what you told your mom last afternoon.
