CEO of the popular American commercial broadcast television and radio network, CBS, was recently accused on many accounts of sexual assault. Leslie Roy Moonves is an American media executive who was extremely successful, working for many Fortune 500 companies.  Moonves joined CBS in 1995 as president of CBS Entertainment.

According to Reuters.com, Moonves stated, “Untrue allegations from decades ago are now being made against me that are not consistent with who I am. Effective immediately I will no longer be Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CBS,” Recently 6 woman released their claims through the news outlet The New Yorker.

Reports say that Moonves would take home a hefty severance of over 100 million dollars, this could change and he might walk away with nothing. An investigation into the allegations of violence against women conducted by law firms was facilitated by the CBS board of directors.

In response to three of the woman who came forth in the New Yorker report, Moonves said, “The appalling accusations in this article are untrue,” Moonves stated. “What is true is that I had consensual relations with three of the women some 25 years ago before I came to CBS. And I have never used my position to hinder the advancement or careers of women.”

These allocations are not only bad for Moonves, but they hurt the company. Recently, an uproar from advocacy groups surrounding the high severance Moonless was going to receive, shined light on the campaign against workplace sexual misconduct.

CBS released a statement saying “The CBS Board of Directors is committed to a thorough and independent investigation of the allegations, and that investigation is actively underway,” Chief Operating Officer Joe Ianniello will take over as interim CEO as the board searches for a replacement.
