    Herpetology Club will meet this Wednesday from 3:00-3:45 in room C111. New members are welcome! This will be a great opportunity to help mold the future of this new club and to share your passion for reptiles with others.

     

    There will be a meeting Monday, October 29 for all students that are interested in joining the wrestling team this season. The meeting will be in the upper part of the LHS cafeteria and will start at 3:10pm.

     

    This year’s Light Up Lakewood Festival will be held on Saturday, December 1.  As part of lakewoodalive’s commitment to fostering & sustaining vibrant neighborhoods, Lakewood Alive is collaborating w/Plantation Home owner David Stein, to provide two $500.00 scholarships to Lakewood residents who are currently high school juniors. This scholarship celebrates community service, pride in Lakewood, and a commitment to further strengthening the community.  Application forms for this scholarship are available in the Guidance office & the Bookroom.

     

    Attention: There will be an interest meeting after school today in the Cafeteria for girls interested in playing basketball this year.  Forms and other important information will be handed out in preparation for the upcoming tryouts being held this Friday & Saturday.

     

    This fall, Barnstormers Drama Club will be performing The Laramie Project. This story focusses on the aftermath of Matthew Shepard’s murder. Matthew was a college student who, in October of 1998, was kidnapped and murdered because of his sexual orientation. Barnstormers club officers will be selling pins in Matt’s honor for $1, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Matthew Shepard foundation. Performances of The Laramie Project are November 1 at 7:30, November 2 at 4:00, and November 3 at 2:30 and 7:30. Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased in the Book Room.

     

    The Southwestern Conference Cheerleader competition will be held at North Olmsted High School on November 5. Tickets are on sale in the Athletic Office.  All tickets are $6.00.

     

    Attention current LHS students grades 9-12. Basketball cheerleading clinics will be held today, this Thursday, and Saturday. If you are interested, please stop by the Athletic Office this week to pick up a tryout packet for further details.

     

    Attention, NHS members our next meeting is this Wednesday from 3:15-4:00pm in B202 (the art atrium). We will be decorating pumpkins for local nursing homes. Please see an officer or Mr. Roth in A210 if you cannot attend. Hope to see you there.

     

    Winter is coming!  Anyone who would like to go on a ski & snowboard trip to Holiday Valley in New York should come to the meeting on Tuesday, October 30 at 3:05 in room C318.  This trip is open to anyone who is interested. See Ms. Flynn in C318 with any questions.

    Seniors!  We’ve extended the opportunity for you to suggest your favorite song and motto to be voted on by the senior class. Suggestions will be taken in the Bookroom today and tomorrow. If you don’t put in your suggestions, you can’t complain about the choices that you are offered.
