Once on a cool winter night
I sat by the fire
Reading my book with delight,
How I loved the letters
The pages
The smell of ink as I flipped through each chapter
One after the other
Until the pages ended.
And I look out to the window,
Watching the snow fall with contemptment
I rise from my chair and walked towards
The window,
As I looked out I saw the snow fall
And fall and fall.
The night was warm and happy,
And I as light as air,
Filled with peace of mind
In my swirling thoughts.
