The holiday season is about, and with many relatives coming to celebrate, many people are looking for something to do. While you could go sledding, build a snowman, or have a snowball fight, many are looking for something a little warmer, turning to the movie theater for entertainment. Here are a few movies coming out during the holiday season that you can look forward to seeing with loved ones:
I’ll start with the big one, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The eighth movie in the series, The Last Jedi continues where The Force Awakens left off, continuing the story of Rey and Luke, facing off against Kylo Ren and Snoke, coming out December 15th. Many are excited about the new addition to the Star Wars series, with the 2015 release introducing the new characters, but leaving many fans unsatisfied with the action, ending on a cliffhanger many wishing to see the completion of in The Last Jedi.
Next is the remake of the classic 90’s movie Jumanji, called Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. This remake puts a twist on the traditional plot of the movie, having a teenage cast playing a video game rather than a board game, and get sucked into it, transforming into the adult avatars they chose. This movie has a star-filled cast, starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is a family friendly comedy suitable for anyone and comes out December 20th.
Finally, the final movie in the trilogy, Pitch Perfect 3 comes out December 22nd. It focuses on the a cappella group The Bellas after winning the big championship at the end of the second movie, finding themselves graduating from college and splitting up. The movie is said to be the last, following the past Bellas as they get together with the current members to make music one more time.
No matter what you see this holiday season, there seems to be an impressive line up of movies for everyone to see and enjoy.
