Why Oprah Shouldn’t Run for President in 2020

    Why+Oprah+Shouldnt+Run+for+President+in+2020

The idea of the television star Oprah running for president began the night of the golden globes, when host Seth Meyers posed that in 2011, he said Donald Trump could never be president, and looked what happened. So he said, “Some have said that night convinced him to run. So, if that’s true, I just want to say: Oprah, you will never be president! You do not have what it takes. And Hanks! Where’s Hanks? You will never be vice president. You are too mean and unrelatable. Now we just wait and see.” While most took this as a joke, late that night, Oprah gave a speech after winning the Cecil B. DeMille Award, saying, “I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon.” This started to stir up rumors of an Oprah run for presidency run in 2020.

Oprah should not run for president. I’m sorry. I love Oprah just as much as the next person, but she’s not a politician. And I know what your already saying, “if the Republican Party can elect a T.V. star why can’t we?” Just because the Republican party elected a ridiculous candidate should not mean we should. I understand the mindset of not elected a politician to run politics, being upset with the slowness of government and wanting change, but since when has not having experience in a job ever done one good in it?

If Oprah want’s to see change in politics, I have no problem with her running for the Senate or House, just not being Commander-in-Chief, you need some experience before you go all the way to the top.
