The 11th Annual Spooky Pooch Parade will take place on Saturday, October 20 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Not only will the parade offer entertainment for anyone living in or around Lakewood, but Pink Lotus Yoga will be hosting what they’re calling “Doga,” meaning dog yoga.
Pink Lotus Yoga is located at 18103 Detroit Avenue, on Lakewood’s west side. They’re an education-focused group that teaches different types of yoga. Those types include Yin, Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Basics, Nidra, and other blended-styles of classes.
Pink Lotus Yoga will be hosting the Doga session from 1 to 1:45 p.m. It will take place within the outfield of Jimmie Fox Field at Kauffman Park. Kauffman Park can be located north of Detroit Avenue, west of Andrews Avenue, and east of Lakeland Avenue.
The Doga session is a free session that does not require any pre-registration. If you can not stay for the whole session, feel free to stop by for the relaxation for as long as you can. Leave early or show up late, it does not matter.
The only things that are asked of you if you do decide to participate in this activity is to bring your own yoga mat and to make sure that your dog is kept on a non-retractable leash.
If you wish to attend the Spooky Pooch Parade only, they are sure to have something for you to enjoy. This year, they will have face painting, food vendors, a dog photo booth, and music that will be provided by a DJ.
If you have any interest in registering your dog in the parade, please note that pre-registration will cost you $10 per dog. Day-of registration will go up in price at $15 per dog.
“People want their dogs to act more human because they secretly want to be a dog.” said LHS Junior Isaac Ferrato.
